Canal house Brouwersgracht, Amsterdam (2013-2020)

Laurens Jan ten Kate, Harm Freymuth, Dafne Wiegers

These two facades have appeared on the canal in Amsterdam, combined into one house. On the canal side, the facades are integrated into the surrounding monumental buildings. Inside, it is a light and spacious living space. By slightly reducing the volume, it was possible to create two courtyards. Grass and sedum herb roofs provide a green view in this otherwise densely built urban block.
